Globalizing the Balkan Wars (1912–13): How Balkan Nation-States Shaped Military Innovation across Europe
Dr. Jovo Miladinović, University of Konstanz
Dr. Miladinović studies modern and contemporary history and holds a Ph.D. from Humboldt University in Berlin, where he published his dissertation on military mobilizations and local communities in the Sandžak region in the early 20th century. His research focuses on the transimperial and interconnected histories of Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. He is currently working on a postdoctoral project focusing on the interconnectedness and territorialization of the Mediterranean in the early modern period.
The discussion will be preceded by a short presentation entitled "Synergy of the Shelter and Omnidirectional Hedging Foreign Policy Strategies" by Giedrius Kviklys, a doctoral student at Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania.
