Die Ausstellungseröffnung mit einer Einleitung von Dr. Pance Velkov findet am Mittwoch den 16.10.2024 um 17:00 Uhr statt.

The exhibition “Sacred Places” is a collection of fine art photos of Panche Velkov  that show endangered sacred heritage from different locations in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, France and Germany, with a central focus on Macedonian sacred heritage, unique in its diversity and cultural values. Many of these sacred places, churches, monasteries, mosques and synagogues, no longer exist, since they have been neglected, vandalised, destroyed or demolished  for lucrative development purposes. The exhibition gives a unique testimony for these places that need to be preserved, as an essential memory for the communities that have  created them  and have been taking care of them throughout history. 

Die Ausstellung war bisher in Caen in der Normandie, in Brandon in der Provence, in Berlin, in Halle-Saale und in Sofia und Rousse in Bulgarien sowie in Skopje in Nordmazedonien zu sehen. Zur Ausstellung existiert ein französisch/mazedonisch- sprachiger Katalog, dessen Veröffentlichung die Region Normandie/Frankreich ermöglicht hat.
