Opening of the Junior Research Group “Discourses of Justification” and book launch “Female Fighters”

This event is dedicated to the topic of "Women in Arms, in Turkey and Beyond." Under this thematic umbrella, it combines the official opening of the Hans Böckler Foundation-funded junior research group "Discourses of Justification in Turkey's Recent History and Present on Women's Participation in Armed Struggle," NFG024, with the book launch of the edited volume "Female Fighters in Armed Conflict," edited by Béatrice Hendrich at Routledge, 2023. The event can be followed online and in presence.

The goals of the event are to introduce the research group NFG024 to a wider audience and to discuss the social, historical, and political significance of the research topic. Guest lectures and short presentations will be devoted to specific issues with various historical and regional contexts.
