SPEAKERS

Every year, the Young SOG elects two spokespersons who coordinate the tasks and activities of the Young SOG and represent the interests of the Young SOG in the committees of the SOG.

Spokesperson

Mara Hann

Mara is a Master's student in International Relations. After completing her Bachelor's in European Studies, she is now focusing her Master's thesis on security policy in the Western Balkans. Her passion for intercultural exchange and global issues has taken her on various study and work placements, including studies at King’s College London and internships with the German Federal Foreign Office and the State Representation of Baden-Württemberg in Berlin. She has also worked on international projects with the European Academy Berlin and has led workshops in schools. She is especially excited about the opportunity to promote cross-cultural dialogue through the JSOG and to inspire young people to engage with the diverse region and its challenges.

(Interim) Spokesperson

Gunnar Zerm

Master's student in European Studies at the European University Viadrina, specialising in international cooperation and European foreign relations. He previously completed a bachelor's degree in history and philosophy, focusing in particular on political transformation processes and social developments in South-Eastern Europe. During his studies, he gained practical experience in the political arena, including working in the office of a member of the German Bundestag and in the Bundestag administration. At the Young South East Europe Society, he particularly appreciates the exchange on political and social issues in South-Eastern Europe and the opportunity to bring different perspectives into dialogue with each other. He is particularly keen to further expand networking within the JSOG and to provide new impetus to get more people interested in the region.

If you need further information or have specific questions, please contact the spokespersons of the Young SOG directly.
